Medard Kyle Kowalski, 17, of New Cumberland was born on September 16, 1997 and accidentally died December 1, 2014.
He was a junior at Cedar Cliff High School. With a contagious smile, he was known as strong, adventurous, kind, and inspirational. Medard believed wrestling was the greatest sport in the world and loved to be on the mat. He had a strong passion for the outdoors and made many contributions to the habitat and conservation of wildlife.
He had a gift to magnetize a community and had a high intellect for the sciences.
He loved and lived life to the fullest. His kind spirit connected with so many.
He is survived by his parents, Susan Lynn and Medard Richard Kowalski, III of New Cumberland; maternal grandparents, Charles Griscavage, Sandy Griscavage and Maryanne Griscavage of Wellsboro; Paternal grandmother, Julie Frances Kowalski of Middletown; brothers, Eric Warner of Philadelphia and Mitchell at home; sister, Marisa at home; aunts and uncles, Margaret Brady, Lisa Pietropola, Charles Griscavage, and Debbie Donahue; and a large amount of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Private interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Township.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6pm Sunday at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Medard’s Guiding Light Scholarship Fund, c/o New Cumberland Federal Credit Union, 345 Lewisberry Road, PO Box 658, New Cumberland, PA 17070. A scholarship to benefit future Cedar Cliff H.S students shall be established.
