Michael J. Butala

Michael J. Butala, 64, of Camp Hill, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at UPMC Pinnacle West Shore, Mechanicsburg. He was born on September 16, 1953, in Harrisburg.

Before entering the private sector, Michael served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He went on to become a professor at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), where he retired this past year. He also spent many years as the equipment manager for the Harrisburg Heat soccer organization.

Michael is survived by his three daughters, Christy M. Raccuglia of Millersville, Tammy L. Fromm (and husband, Thomas) of Green Cove Springs, FL and Brandy M. Butala of Mechanicsburg; and five grandchildren. Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, just this past May. They had just celebrated 43 years of marriage before Patricia’s death; Michael certainly wanted to be with her again.

A public graveside service will be held at 2:30PM on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
