Michael James Yeckley

Michael James Yeckley, 70, of New Cumberland died Sunday, April 21, 2024 at his home.

An Army Veteran, he was a Technician with Dorman Products.  Mike was a 1971 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School and later attended St. Pius X Seminary, KY.  He was a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland and attended other Diocese Parishes with his siblings. Mike was the glue that held his family together. God and family were his top priorities. He was also a very gifted and creative individual, who was self taught in music composition and designed a military board game. His favorite outdoor activities included hiking, biking, and golf.

He was born June 18, 1953 in Harrisburg to the late Thomas Richard and Eileen Dorothy (Ratchford) Yeckley.   He was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Strittmatter.

He is survived by nine brothers and sisters, Mary Boyer of Lewisberry, Thomas Yeckley of Harrisburg, Patricia Musser of Camp Hill, Francis Yeckley of Biglerville, Theresa Fickes of Camp Hill, Joseph Yeckley of Harrisburg, Elizabeth Kramer of Harrisburg, Joy LaNoue of Camp Hill, Amy Yeckley of Elizabethtown: and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be from 5 to 7pm Wednesday and 9:30 to 10:30am Thursday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
