MSG Lewis Glenn Lamp, Jr., (U.S. Army, ret.), 67, of Fairview Twp., Etters, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at his residence.
He retired as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army with over 22 years of service and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his military career, he worked as an employee of PSECU, and Capital Recovery, both of Harrisburg. Born on November 6, 1949, in Clarksburg, WV, he was the son of the late Lewis G., Sr. and Catherine M. (Viale) Lamp. Lewis enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports, was an avid NASCAR fan, loved the Dallas Cowboys and adored his dogs.
He is survived by his wife of more than 46 years, Wavelene E. (Steele) Lamp; two sons, John G. and wife, Amanda D. of Valdosta, GA, and Christopher L. and wife Nicole M. of Harrisburg; two brothers, John Lamp and Mike Lamp, both of Clarksburg, WV; a sister, Cindy Kovach of Mt. Clare, WV; five grandchildren, Lauren, Brayden, Kameron, Ian and Roman; and three step-grandchildren, Emily, Erica and Cindy.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1303 Bridge St., New Cumberland, PA, with the Rev. Timothy L. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
Viewing will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Tuesday in the funeral home.
