Nancy Ann Fleck

August 19, 1947 — September 7, 2022

Nancy Ann (Griva) Fleck, 75, of Harrisburg, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in Spring Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Harrisburg.

She was a retired emergency dispatcher with the PA State Police, of Harrisburg.

Nancy was born in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Michael and Sara (Stilo) Griva. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Michael A. Griva, Sr., and her cousin and best friend Nancy Jane Stilo.

She grew up in a large Italian family and enjoyed spending time with all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She graduated from William Penn High School, Harrisburg, where she was a drummer in the band, sang in the choir, and always was thrilled to march in hometown parades and at football games. Nancy was a member of Brookfield Bible Church, Harrisburg, where she led bible studies and performed in-home ministries for home-bound church members.

Though Nancy was never blessed with children of her own, she was a proud, involved, and loving aunt to her nephew Michael A. Griva, Jr., his wife Kasha, their children Anthony, Cade, and Graelyn, all of Lemoyne, and her two nieces, Christina Griva of Dillsburg and Amy Griva of Pottsville. Additionally, Nancy served as a beloved caretaker for both of her parents for many years. Nancy is missed dearly and loved eternally by her family.

Throughout her life, Nancy was a wonderful mother to her cats Mickie, Jeffie, Adam, and Casey, as well as her dog Baby.

Nancy loved shopping and dining out with her nieces; nights out with her cousins and girlfriends; dinners and family game nights with her nephew and family; watching sports (especially the NY Yankees) with her dad and brother; watching old Western movies, Everybody Loves Raymond, and I Love Lucy; and celebrating birthdays and holidays. She made every family member feel special by calling them on their birthday and singing “Happy Birthday”. Big family gatherings, cake, icing, and milkshakes were among her favorites.

Nancy adored her nurses Sam, Beatrice, Jessica, and so many others who lovingly cared for her at Spring Creek Rehabilitation Center. Her roommate Lori was a source of friendship, joy, and comfort.

Crypt side services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 15, 2022 in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. There will be no viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions in Nancy’s memory to Brookfield Bible Church, 3601 Brookfield Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17109.
