Nancy Heil Rousseau, nee Sandnes, 77, of Tierra Verde Florida, passed away at her home on December 12, 2020 with family at her side. Formerly of Camp Hill PA, Nancy maintained a loving relationship with her family there. She leaves a world deeply touched by her grace and spirit.
Born on March 19, 1943, in Brooklyn NY, she was the third daughter of the late Edward S. and Helen M. (Andersen) Sandnes of New Cumberland PA. Nancy was the widow of Thomas S. Heil and Richard R. Rousseau.
Nancy is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Leslie M. and Michael Souliere of Williamsburg VA, and Kristen H. and Bruce Staub of Madeira Beach, FL; three grandsons, Zachary Souliere, Garrett Souliere and Mason Staub; brothers and sisters: Elaine Sandnes of Camp Hill, Carol Drake of Largo FL, Edward (Diane) Sandnes of Lewisberry, Susan Lewis of New Cumberland, Paul (Kathleen) Sandnes of New Cumberland, Karen (Tim) Wakefield of Camp Hill, Margeaux Sandnes of New Cumberland, Roy Sandnes of New Cumberland, Jim (Kerry) Sandnes of New York City, Lois (Alan) Sandnes of Shiremanstown; and many nieces and nephews. Nancy is also survived by her step sons: Gary Rousseau and Glen (Tracy) Rousseau and their children Anthony, Luccas and Hannah Rousseau.
Nancy was in the first Cedar Cliff High School graduating class in 1960. In the 1970s, she settled in Camp Hill with her husband, raising her daughters there. After working for many years, Nancy retired as the Vice President of Loan Origination for PHEAA, Harrisburg. She loved to read and enjoyed boating. Nancy was a past member of Bush River Yacht Club in Aberdeen, MD.
For the last twenty years of her life, Nancy lived in Florida where she embraced the warm, tropical lifestyle. She enjoyed the water and sun and traveling, and especially her frequent outings to the casinos.
Nancy spent her life with love and adventure as guiding stars. She enjoyed all that life presented and showed great kindness to those around her. Some have described her as fearless and others, delightful; she was always described as generous.
Traveling became a great passion for Nancy. She visited many countries including Russia, most of Europe, and countless places in the Caribbean. Nancy often included others on her travels, enriching the adventure and giving so much.
A visitation will be held 5-7 PM on Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday at Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Township, with the Reverend Virginia Cover officiating.
