Naomi Joan Arnold, 85, of Fairview Twp., Lewisberry, passed away from COVID on Saturday, March, 6, 2021, at the Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center.
Born on Thursday, March 14, 1935, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Hazel M. (Gibson) Mitchell. Mrs. Arnold was the widow of Basil D. Arnold and was also preceded in death by her daughter, the Rev. Barbara Sue Berg. Surviving are her daughter and husband, Stephanie K. and Doyle R. Anderson of Lewisberry; a granddaughter and grandson, Jennifer M. and husband, Robert J. Hugar, Jeremy R. and wife, Meredith V. Anderson; two great-granddaughters and a great-grandson, Samantha, Rebekah and Elijah.
Grams, as she was affectionately known, loved her family with all her being and was very protective of them. She was a compassionate and nurturing mother and grandma. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and caring for her houseplants. Joan also had a great love for animals. She read her Bible daily and instilled a deep faith in her daughters and grandchildren. During her years of working, Joan was employed as a telephone operator and in the cafeteria at Red Land High School.
Private graveside services were held Friday, March 12th in Cross Roads Cemetery, Fairview Twp. with the Rev.Paul Zieber officiating. Funeral arrangements have been provided by Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.
