Neil O. “Lefty” Peiffer, 81, of New Cumberland, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was a retired air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration, New Cumberland and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill; the American Legion, Wormleysburg; Fairview Twp. Lions Club; Life member of the N.R.A.; enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and bowling and was an avid Boston Bruins fan.
Lefty was born in Stouchsburg, Berks Co. to the late Morris K. and Laura N. (Anspach) Peiffer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Reed) and his brother Lynn A. Peiffer.
He is survived by his children, Jeffrey L. Peiffer of Lemoyne, Robin C. Derendinger of Etters and Allison E. Peiffer of New Cumberland; two grandchildren, Kayleigh E. Peiffer and Kyle W. Derendinger.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in his church, 1610 Carlisle Rd., Camp Hill with the Rev’s. Virginia J. Cover and D. Evan Houck officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to services in the church. Burial will be at 11 am on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Womelsdorf, Berks County.
