Nevin A. Deppen Jr., 83, of Camp Hill passed away on October 31, 2024. Born on June 17, 1941 in Danville to the late Nevin Alexander Deppen, Sr. and Mary Irene (Diebert) Deppen-Hostler. He was a beloved member of the community and a dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A mechanical engineer for 37 years with Tyco Electronics and 16 years at Rosenberger of North America, Nevin's passion for innovation has left a lasting impact in the field of electronics manufacturing. Nevin was more than just a skilled professional - he was a devoted member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in New Cumberland and an active participant in various community organizations, including the Masonic Lowther Manor Lodge #781 in Camp Hill, the Harrisburg Consistory/Zembo Shrine, and the Cumberland Co. Shrine Club. He found the most joy in spending time with his grandchildren, indulging in woodworking, and volunteering at Hospice of Central PA.
Nevin is survived by his children John (Denise) Deppen, Lisa (Doug Anstadt) Deppen, Kimberly (Michael DeChambeau) Deppen, and Jeff (Maura Keller) Deppen; 9 beloved grandchildren, Jenna (Nick) Henry, Philip Deppen, Leah Deppen, Nicholas (Sara Famiglio) Anstadt, Christopher (Erin Woods) DeChambeau, Kathryn DeChambeau, Jeremy Deppen, Hannah (Ryan Connelly) Deppen, and Emily Deppen; one great-granddaughter, Thea Henry; a brother-in-law, Frank Iadecola; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Nevin is preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary Louise (Iadecola) Deppen.
A viewing will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 6 - 8 PM at Parthemore Funeral Home. A second viewing will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 9 - 10 AM at Parthemore Funeral home, Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA in honor of Nevin's compassionate spirit and commitment to serving others.
