Patricia M. “Patty” (Stauffer) Byerly, 65, of Lewisberry, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was born on May 16, 1959, to Patricia Houser and the late Robert A. Stauffer.
Patty was a 1977 graduate of Red Land High School and would go on to spend her working career as a secretary with Pinnacle Health, Harrisburg. She and her husband, Fred, married in 1983 and would raise two boys. Yearly summer vacations to Raystown Lake were a staple throughout the years, and she was a devoted mother as her children grew, rarely missing a baseball game, tennis match, or important life event.
She was upbeat and enjoyed being with her family, and she was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. When she found time to relax, you could find her reading a book or playing some mindless internet games. Patty collected carnival glass, rocking horses and china. She claimed she was “allergic to the kitchen,” but never failed her family at Thanksgiving and Christmas, going all out with a holiday spread. She enjoyed music all her life, but Country was her favorite, and she always had a soft spot for dogs. In recent years, nothing brought her more joy than playing with her grandchildren.
Surviving is her loving husband of 41 years, Fred Byerly; her children, Jake Byerly (Hannah) of Camp Hill, PA, and Max Byerly of Salt Lake City, UT; two grandchildren whom she truly loved, Jackson and Madilyn Byerly; her mother, Patricia Houser; siblings, Mary, Bob, Sharon and Jimmy; and a sister-in-law, Chris Rickard.
In accordance with Patty’s wishes, there will be no services.
