Patricia Sue Yocum

Patricia Sue Yocum, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on October 25, 1929, in York, Pennsylvania to the late Paul E.V. and Josephine (Mathias) Shannon. Patricia was a devoted homemaker, whose warmth and nurturing nature created a welcoming home for her family. Throughout her life, Patricia displayed a remarkable passion for music, often captivating those around her with her talent as a pianist. She found joy in knitting, creating cherished pieces for her family, and immersing herself in captivating murder mysteries, whether through reading or watching her favorite shows. Her zest for life also led her on many adventures, traveling alongside her husband in pursuit of antiques for their resale business, a venture they both adored.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Yocum; her sons, John Yocum, II and his wife, Kamla, Paul Yocum, and his wife, Wendy, and a legacy of five grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren who cherished her deeply. Patricia was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a brother, Paul, and two sisters, Jo Marie and Nancy. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 10 – 11 AM at Parthemore Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 11 AM, Pastor Cindy Thomas will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to honor Patricia's memory consider a donation to a local charity that supports the arts or education.
