Patrick Duncan Kline, 26, of New Cumberland, PA, and Mechanicsville, VA, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Henrico County, VA as a result of an automobile accident.
He was a Mortgage Loan Officer with CBM Mortgage, Charlottesville, VA and a graduate of Trinity High School, Camp Hill, PA, Hampden-Sydney College, Hampden-Sydney, VA and earned his MBA at Marshall University, Huntington, WV.
At Hampden-Sydney, he was a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Mu Epsilon honors fraternities, participated in the Hobbie Scholarship Program, and served as both Treasurer and President of the Tiger Athletic Club. He was a four-year letterman in football for the Hampden-Sydney Tigers, serving as Captain his senior year, earning All-Conference honors his junior and senior years and Virginia College All-State Honors his senior year. For three years while at Hampden-Sydney, he was a member of the Beyond the Hill Service Group and made two service trips to the Dominican Republic.
Following graduation, he coached football for three years as a graduate assistant at Marshall University, followed by a brief time with the staff at Virginia Tech. After returning to Marshall to complete his MBA, he embarked on a career in the mortgage industry with CBM Mortgage, charged with developing the market for the company in the Richmond area with a company goal for Pat to eventually become the manager of a new Richmond office.
Patrick was born in Hershey, PA, the son of Robert P. and Lynne (Partridge) Kline of New Cumberland.
In addition to his parents, Patrick is survived by his sister and brother, Kailey Baine Maguire of Camp Hill and John Fitzpatrick Kline of Mechanicsville, VA; his maternal grandmother Anne C. Partridge of Mechanicsburg; his paternal grandmother Florence M. Kline of New Cumberland; several cousins, aunts, uncles - and many, many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 18, 2021 in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1303 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA with the Rev. Kyle Sahd as Celebrant. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5 – 8 pm in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp. In addition, the Kline family will be hosting a memorial on the Hampden-Sydney campus in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Hampden-Sydney College or Trinity High School. Gifts to the college in memory of Patrick will be dedicated to a scholarship fund in his memory and may be sent to the Hampden-Sydney College Development Office, Post Office Box 307, Hampden-Sydney, VA 23943. Gifts to Trinity in his memory may be sent to Trinity High School, Attention: John Cominsky, 3601 Simpson Ferry Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
