Patrick J. McNichol, 75, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Carolyn’s House, a service of Hospice of Central PA, Susquehanna Twp.
He was a retired benefits coordinator for the Commonwealth of PA, Department of Education, Harrisburg; a Vietnam War Army veteran; a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Harrisburg and Elizabethtown College; a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Mechanicsburg; a lifetime member of Lower Allen VFW Post 7530 where he was a Past Commander, Past President of the Home Association and a member of the Military Honor Guard for funerals; a member of American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg; lifetime member of BPO Elks, Camp Hill; and a member of the Mechanicsburg Club.
Pat was born in Reading, PA to the late George and Anne (Broderick) McNichol.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann (Egresitz) McNichol; son Sean P. McNichol of Camp Hill; daughter Meredith A. Farrell and husband Marc of Camp Hill; and siblings, John B. McNichol and wife Joan of Mechanicsburg and Maureen M. Saweikis and husband John of Camp Hill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Friday, July 7, 2017 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 310 Hertzler Rd. Mechanicsburg with the Rev. Msgr. William J. King as Celebrant. There will be no viewing or visitation. Burial with military honors will be at 11:30 am on Friday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp., PA.
