Paul Wayne Aikens

August 14, 1937 — January 28, 2022

Paul Wayne Aikens, 84, of Etters died Friday, January 28, 2022 at York Hospital.

A veteran of the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania, he was a retired Development Engineer from Dupont Electronics having obtained eight patents for the company, and previously worked for Berg Electronics. A longtime member of Experimental Aircraft Assn., he had a keen interest in aircraft and flying. He would go every year to Oshkosh, WI for the EAA Fly In. He was also an avid motorcyclist and looked forward to riding Sundays with his fellow enthusiasts. A passionate roller-skater, he and his wife made many friends through skating. He also enjoyed fishing and creating topiaries.

Not one to stay still for any time, Paul built the home and outbuilding where he lived for the past sixty years. He was also a master craftsman and built his own furniture.

Paul was born August 14, 1937 in Harrisburg to the late Paul and Mary (Klaiss) Aikens.

He is survived by his wife, Claire Jean Aikens; children, Susan Sederes (David) of York Haven, Jennifer Burnett (Bill) of Sicklerville, NJ, David Aikens of Dover, Nicole Hunt (Sean) of York, and Marc Keplar of Pittsburgh; sister, Kathy Arbogast of Mechanicsburg; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10am until a time of sharing at 11am Thursday, February 3, at Parthemore Funeral Home.

In lieu of flower, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made in Paul’s memory to the Providence Place Co-Worker Foundation. The Foundation is a 501-C3 nonprofit that provides grants to co-workers who experience personal hardships. We greatly appreciate the love and quality of care provided to Paul while a resident of Providence Place of Dover. Contributions may be mailed to 1528 Sand Hill Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
