Perry C. Bates

Perry C. Bates, 77, of Dillsburg, died April 9, 2024 while wintering in Albuquerque, NM.

A 1965 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, he was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, an Electronic Engineer and the President of  Techtrol Cyclonetics, Inc. in New Cumberland from 1976 until its closing in 2015.  

He was a member of Robert Burns Lodge No. 464, Harrisburg, an Associate Grand Guardian of Job’s Daughters of Pennsylvania and a HAM Radio operator.  He enjoyed electronics, steam engines and carpentry.

He was born January 1, 1947 in Lancaster to the late Alfred P. and Evalyn (Eshleman) Bates.  

He is survived by his wife, Linda S. (Fissel) Bates; daughter, Tiffany S. Bates-Strickler and her husband Mark.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Perry was a member of the NM Heritage Rail and participated in the restoration of Engine 2926. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to:
