Phyllis Jean (Harnden) Combs, 94, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in VibraLife, Mechanicsburg surrounded by her loving family.
She was a graduate of South Portland, ME High School; Colby College, Waterville, ME (Bachelors); Rutgers University, NJ (Masters); and was the owner operator of Farm Fortune bed and breakfast for over 30 years in New Cumberland. Phyllis was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Camp Hill where her husband, the late Rev. Chad P. Combs previously served; qualified for the Daughters of the American Revolution; and was a member of the International Chapter PEO Sisterhood, Chapter AQ, Camp Hill. Her interests include antiques and early American history, especially Williamsburg, VA.
Phyllis was born in Waltham, MA, the daughter of the late Ernest and Blanche (Farris) Harnden. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Ernest Harnden, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Amy Fasick (Chuck) of Mechanicsburg, Brian Combs (Susan) of Vaughn, WA and Bradley Combs (Dawn) of New Cumberland; brother Hobart Harnden of South Portland, ME; grandchildren, Donna, Jess, Sarah, Ellie, Cedar and Chad; and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 19, 2021 in Christ Presbyterian Church, 420 Deerfield Rd. Camp Hill, PA with the Rev. Ellen Crawford-True, her pastor officiating. Visitation will be at 10am in the church. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family.
