“Like a storm, time rolls on
You can’t hit pause as we just did
Most days in life don’t stand out
But life’s about those days that we all like”
We all liked those days when we were with “Deano”. They just don’t make them like they used to, and he certainly had the type of heart where everybody felt like family. All were welcome in “Stonerville”, and he was certainly the consistent staple for years that held it all together. Thousands from across the country visited that ol corner deck and that legendary basement. It was a buddy from years ago that was back in town, the neighbor that needed to hear a few tunes on a beautiful summer evening, the mother that routinely made the trek across the street to check on the hood, and even the soon to be NFL Hall of Famer that was up visiting one of the boys and wanted to check it out. The wave was always there, maybe on one of those days in life that don’t stand out…it brought you a smile. The wave now comes from a much higher ground, and that smile, that laugh, and the trademark “lean” over that railing as he looks over us all with joy. If you were blessed to have crossed paths with Dean Stoner, you certainly will always remember those days.
