Randall E. “Duffy” Evertts, Sr., 98, of New Cumberland, died Monday, January 15, 2018, at The Gardens at Camp Hill, East Pennsboro Twp.
He retired as a Signal Maintainer for Amtrak; an Army WWII veteran; a member of the 1938 graduating class of the former Lemoyne High School; a founding member and manager for forty years, and played the saxophone with the New Cumberland Town Band for over 58 years; a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland, and American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland; a former member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman.
Born on June 10, 1919, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Nathan D. and Theresa G. (Duffey) Evertts. He was the widower of Jean Good (Shenk) Evertts and was also the widower of Jane (Conrad) Evertts and was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry R. Evertts and Ronald L. Evertts, a sister, Beatrice Boyles, and a brother, Lorin Evertts.
Surviving are a son, Randall E. Evertts, Jr. (Carol) of New Cumberland; two daughters, Virginia C. Evertts of Camp Hill and Nancy K. Hayes of Maryville, TN; two step daughters, Patrice Cook of Harrisburg and Barbara Zubchynski of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; four step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Reverends Carl Ford Peterson and Arun Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Viewing will be held 1 - 2 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
