Raymond L. Madden, 79, formerly of New Cumberland and Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Emeritus at Harrisburg, Susquehanna Twp.
He was a retired Plumber with AMP, Inc., Elizabethtown as well as Ramsey’s Plumbing and H.L. Bowman Plumbing. He served in the Naval Reserve and was a 1954 graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg. He was a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland; Life member New Cumberland River Rescue; former member of Rainbow Campers, REACT, NCHA Clown Club and the CB Club where his handle was Dog Checker and his call signal was KOG 3998.
Ray was born in Harrisburg to the late John and Caroline (Schlitzer) Madden. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Carroll Madden.
He is survived by his daughter Christina Duttry and husband Steve; his son David Madden and wife Tracy; his companion Betty Markley; his brother Edmund Madden and wife Janet; and five grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Tony, Liorah and Cyrick.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 am on Wedneday, April 30, 2014 in his church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland with the Rev. J. Michael McFadden as Celebrant. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am Wednesday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg.
