Raymond S. Klein

January 24, 1934 — February 8, 2017

HARRISBURG, Penn.—Raymond S. Klein, 83, formerly of Guilderland, NY, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2017.

He grew up in Boston and the Bronx. As a teenager, he worked as a vendor at Yankee Stadium, Ebbets Field, and the Polo Grounds. His favorite player was Joe DiMaggio. After graduation from Theodore Roosevelt HS in the Bronx, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the aircraft carrier FDR in the Mediterranean during the Korean War.

He was a graduate of City College of NY (BS & MS) and SUNY Buffalo (EdD). His professional career included working for various NYS agencies in the Albany area and working as a psychologist in Pa. Ray helped many people through his private practice and the business he had caring for patients in nursing homes. His former clients are forever grateful that he was part of their lives.

He was an active member and past president of Rotary. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, travel, and photography.

He is survived by his children Steven and Susan (Andre Couillard), his beloved grandchildren Maxim and Melanie and his former wife, Linda.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1pm, Sunday, March 5th at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12309..
