Rebecca "Becky" R. LaRosa

Rebecca “Becky” R. LaRosa, 69, of Mechanicsburg died Tuesday, July 4^th at her home.

She was born October 4, 1953 in Bremerton, WA to the late Lowell T. and Elizabeth (Dunlap) Thorpe. 

She was an English Literature graduate of Penn State University, where she met her loving husband John of 48 years. They were wed on August 2, 1975 in Cherry Tree, PA.

She was Preschool Coordinator at St. Theresa School, New Cumberland. Over the years she also worked in retail for Pomeroy’s, The Bon-Ton, and Macy’s.

She had a witty sense of humor, was an avid reader; and was passionate about animal welfare, nature, antiques, Penn State sports, and the Philadelphia Eagles (go Birds!).

She supported many worthwhile causes including; the MS Society, St. Joseph’s Indian School, Arbor Day Foundation, and the National Parks Foundation among others.

She is survived by her husband, John M. LaRosa; children, Adam D. LaRosa of Harrisburg, Michael C. LaRosa (Elaine) of San Diego, CA, and Jessica A. LaRosa of Harrisburg. As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and cat Chloe. Predeceased by daughter Christina A. LaRosa.

Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until funeral services at 11:30 AM Tuesday, July 11^th at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.

The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses, physical therapists and many others at the Penn State Health System and BAYADA Home Health Care.
