Rev. Dr. Carolyn Marie Seifert

Rev. Dr. Carolyn Marie Seifert, 80, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in her residence with her loving husband by her side.

Carolyn was a retired teacher, chaplain and ordained clergy in the Church of the Nazarene. She received her Doctor of Ministry degree from Andover Newton Seminary, Newton, MA.

Carolyn was born in Lafayette, IN to the late Rev. Carl and Noretta (Salmon) Sewell.

She is survived by her husband of more than 57 years, Charles E. Seifert; three sons, Lewis Seifert of Providence, RI, Philip Seifert and wife Meredith of Arlington, MA, and Jonathan Seifert of Dracut, MA; a brother David Sewell of Greenwood, IN; four grandsons, three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, 228 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA with the Rev. Dr. Edwin Green, her pastor officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to service time in the church. Burial will be in Grantham Memorial Park, Upper Allen Twp., PA.
