Revena M. Swope

Revena M. (Knoble) Swope, 84, of New Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 in Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill.

She was born in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late John Anthony and Revena (Thompson) Knoble and was the widow of Thomas Swope.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren including Roman Wright, Aria Revena Taylor, and Isaiah Durbin who all called her GG, and a loyal puppy companion, Olaf.

Revena was retired from the PA State House of Representatives, Harrisburg; a graduate of Catholic High School (Bishop McDevitt), Harrisburg where she was a majorette; and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. 

Revena was a kind and loving person who touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. She was known as Lambie by her dad, who gave her that nickname because she was humble, meek, and gentle. She had a passion for life and enjoyed many things, such as walking, ‘50s music, dancing, Notre Dame and Kansas City Chiefs football, crab cakes, Sunday night ice cream and her weekend breakfast club. She was an excellent speller and proofreader and could quickly do math calculations in her head. Her favorite color was green, which reflected her vibrant and caring personality. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A private graveside Committal service will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Revena’s memory to her church, St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA 17070.
