Rhema L. Serbanic

Rhema L. (Bourland) Serbanic, 96, formerly of Shreveport and Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Sarah Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle, PA.

She was a retired Welfare Technician with the Welfare Department of her beloved State of Louisiana. She took her job with the Welfare Department very seriously. Rhema loved to garden and took great pride in her yard.

Rhema was born in Oakdale, LA to the late Marion and Katherine (Wall) Bourland and was raised by her stepfather, the late Thomas Boyd Phillips. In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by a grandson Nick Serbanic.

She is survived by her son Peter B. Serbanic and his wife Pamela of Shermans Dale, PA; a granddaughter Christine Shippam and her husband Anthony of Philadelphia, PA; and a great grandson Colin Shippam.

A private committal will be held in Rose – Neath Cemetery, Bossier City, LA.
