Richard T. Freistak, 100, of New Cumberland, PA passed away peacefully on June 19th. He was born on September 6, 1923 in Middletown, PA to the late Frank Freistak, Sr. and Frances (Jacobs) Freistak. He was a graduate of New Cumberland High School and Penn State University. Richard retired from a career in architecture. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific. He was a Penn State Season ticket holder and enjoyed tailgating at football games. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a train enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Joseph, Paul, George (Bobby), Alfred, and a sister, Helen Trepanier. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, June 25th from 10 to 11:30am at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland with Mass of Christian Burial at noon at St. Theresa Catholic Church (directly across the street). Burial will be private in Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Speranza Animal Rescue, 1216 Brandt Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
