Richard W. "Termite" Johnson, 67, of New Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 18th, 2014, at Harrisburg Hospital.
He retired from the DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa, Fairview Twp.; was an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War; a life member of both the American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland, and V.F.W. Post 7530, Lower Allen Twp.; a member of Mechanicsburg Club and the Fifth Ward Republican Club, Steelton. Born on October 18th, 1947, in Altoona, he was the son of the late Chester and Eunice Johnson. Termite was also preceded in death by a son, Travis W. Johnson.
Surviving are his fiancée, Bonnie L. Ward; a daughter, Jessica D. Crowley of Carlisle; a step daughter and her husband, Melissa and Mitch Kauffman of York Haven; a brother, Michael McGraw of Altoona; three sisters, Vivian Koeth of Cleveland, OH, Virginia Anderson of Audubon, NJ, and Debra Gougler of Glenolden; four grandchildren, Erika, Clayton, Reese and Jordan; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Charles Zahora officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp. Visitation will be held 4 – 6 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
