Richard W. “Dick” Turner, 74, of Etters died Friday, October 6, 2017 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
He was the retired Co-Owner and Operator of Highland Motor Sales, Lemoyne and worked as a car salesman at other locations. He was a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. An adult volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, he was past Scout Master, District Commissioner for the Keystone Area Council, and recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for Distinguished Service. In his younger years, Richard was active in New Cumberland Youth Football. He loved gardening and his dog Toby.
He was born March 1, 1943 in Brockton, MA to the late Walter A. and Evelyn (West) Turner. He was also preceded in death by his son, Steven J. Turner; two brothers, Robert and Ronald; and his ex-wife, Donna.
He is survived by his wife, Judith K. (Snow) Turner; two daughters, Sheri M. McMichael and Melissa A. Vaccaro (Frank) both of New Cumberland; two step-sons, James and Michael (Holly) Snow both of Dover; three grandchildren, Pastor Nicholas McMichael (Angie), Allie and Hanna Vaccaro; and two step-grandchildren, Nathan and Nicholas Snow.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12th, 2017, from 10am until Memorial Services at 11am at Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. Interment will follow in Slate Hill Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
