Richard B. Ward

Richard B. Ward, 73, of Mechanicsburg, Fairview Twp. died Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital Camp Hill.

He retired from the Naval Aviation Supply Office/Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia.  Rich was an Army Veteran serving in the Accounting and Finance Corps followed by a long career with the Navy in multiple facets of Supply Logistics including development and oversight of Workforce and Operation budgets and Logistics Management of the H60 Helicopter platform, ensuring readiness for our Navy and Marine units.  He was a graduate of Father Judge High School and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in finance from LaSalle University, Philadelphia.   Rich was an avid golfer from a young age, continuing to play with his close friends and former co-workers well into retirement.  He was proud of his Irish Catholic heritage connecting through his love of Irish music and genealogical research.

He was born July 28, 1950 in Philadelphia to the late William James and Evarista Grace (Dalton) Ward.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Evarista “Marcy” Ward; and brothers, John “Jack” and David Ward.

He is survived by his wife, Adrianna L. (Dawson) Ward; daughters, Theresa Darlington (Jim) and Julia Sharp (Christian) both of St. Petersburg, FL; brother, William “Chip” Ward (Ilene) of Philadelphia; and grandchildren, James, Henry, Olivia and Laurel.

Visitation will be from 10am until memorial services at 11am Saturday, November 18 at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland.
