Robert Eugene Danner (lovingly known as “BD”) passed into heavenly rest on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was born in Seidel Memorial Hospital on October 21, 1941, to Robert Oscar Danner and Alfretta (Yinger).
Bob lived in the New Cumberland area for all of his life and graduated from New Cumberland High School (though he was at Noami’s Restaurant drinking coffee rather than accepting his diploma!).
Bob loved to fish and spent many hours at the New Cumberland boat launch. He was employed by US Airways in Harrisburg for almost 35 years. After retiring from US Air, Bob soon began working for Hertz car rental at HIA, which kept him close to friends. In retirement, he gave back to his community by volunteering for many years with Red Land Senior Center in Lewisberry. He gave generously to multiple charities but showed an especially soft heart for children and veterans.
He leaves behind his cousins Sandy Estep and Bob Walters. Though Bob never married or had children, he is remembered by his chosen family through his “daughter” Lisa Dalto (husband Dave and daughters Paige and Claire); “daughter” Tracy Murgas (husband Joe and sons Jaz, Tyler, and Joey); and his close friend Sheree Flasser. He was blessed by the steady company of friend, Dave Barnhart during his final days on earth. He was cared for lovingly by Amber and her team at Lifesong Hospice and many employees at The Woods at Cedar Run.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 4 – 6 PM at Parthemore Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in New Cumberland at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lifesong Hospice Foundation, 3882 TecPort Drive, Suite 2, Harrisburg, PA 17111, or a donation to the charity of your choice.
