Robert E. Matthews

Robert E. Matthews, 66, of New Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg
Hospital.

He worked with the PA Department of Revenue, Harrisburg and was a 1972 graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg. Bob loved music, vinyl and ALL things Beatles. He was a member of the Dutch Club and the Steelton VFW and American Legion. Bob could strike up a conversation with anyone and truly enjoyed talking and interacting with people of all walks of life.

Bob was born in Harrisburg, the son of the late Frank S. and Mary Jane (Mountz) Matthews.

He is survived by his son and daughter, Robert S. (Robbie) Matthews of Hazel Park, MI and Jessica E. Matthews of Dallastown, PA; former wife and mother of their children, Heather Arnold of New Cumberland; siblings, Mary Jane Jones of Dillsburg, Michael Matthews of Hattiesburg, MS, Patrick Matthews of Linden, VA and Kelly Matthews of Steelton, PA.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, August 27, 2021 in Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, 228 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA with the Rev. Jean Felty officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 – noon Friday in the church. In keeping with Bob’s preferences, casual dress is encouraged for both the visitation and the memorial service.
