Robert Emmett Newell

Robert Emmett Newell, 79 of New Cumberland died Sunday, April 26, 2015.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Ingrid (Emhart) Newell, three children, Robert (Susan) of Coronado, CA, Brian (Diana) of Mechanicsburg, PA and Cathleen McFarland (William) of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by his brother Thomas of Wilmington, DE and nine adoring grandchildren, Kathryn, William, Joseph, Alexa, Colin, Ian, Ethan, Madelyn, and Addison. He is preceded in death by a brother, Charles and sister, MaryAnn Kulesza.
Robert was born February 10, 1936 in Wilmington, DE to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Garst) Newell. He graduated from Salesianum High School. A Marine Corp Veteran he participated in the Beirut, Lebanon landing in1958. After serving in the Marine Corps he graduated from the University of Maryland and dedicated 23 years as a Personnel Manager for E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Company. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, Knights of Columbus and Rotary Club of West Shore of which he was a prior District Governor and Paul Harris Fellow.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Thursday at St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp.
