Robert G. Schwab, Sr., 82, of Camp Hill, PA passed away peacefully on April 24, 2016. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
A native of Philadelphia, he was the son of Paul K. Schwab and Margaret G. Schwab. Bob was a proud alumnus of Germantown Academy (1951) and of Ursinus College (1955). He served in the US Navy, and had been a member of the Lions Club. He was a longtime member of Camp Hill Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon. Bob had a lifelong love for the seaside and was a lifeguard in Ocean City, NJ during many happy summers in his youth. He had a career in sales, ranging from IBM to American Olean Tile, and over 30 years in real estate. He was a warm and outgoing person with a lively sense of humor and a keen interest in travel.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Greta S. Schwab and their loving children, daughter Heidi Schwab-Jurmala, and her husband Peter Jurmala, of Stockholm, Sweden, and son Robert Schwab, Jr, and his wife Sharon Schwab, of Etters, PA and three granddaughters, Kylie, Devon and Jordan. He is predeceased by his son, Stephen G. Schwab, and his brother, Paul G. Schwab.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, 101 N. 23rd Street, Camp Hill, PA, with visitation with the family from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Interment will be private, at a later date.
