Robert J. “Robbie” Kalemtis, 35, of East Pennsboro Twp. and formerly of New Cumberland, died Friday, June 23, 2023, at his home.
He was an employee of McDonalds Restaurant, Yocumtown; a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and The Harrisburg Diocese Cursillo Movement.
Robbie was a blessing, pure joy, and a compassionate and gentle soul. His love for other people was more important to him than himself. He was an amazing prayer warrior. He truly loved God with all his heart. He always listened to the Bible and worshiped Jesus every day.
Robbie had a disability, but he had a big heart. He had a severe speech impediment, but that didn't stop him on his endeavor to make people understand him. Robbie was determined to find a way to communicate with everyone. He was very involved with the community and his church. He competed in Special Olympic Roller-Skating Dance Competition. He was very involved with the Catholic Church where he was an altar server and also volunteered wherever anything needed done.
Along with that, he also was involved with Caring Hearts Pet Therapy and helped out at New Cumberland fire station and the New Cumberland River Rescue as a volunteer many, many times helping with bingo with his mom. Robbie had a beautiful smile and a wonderful and loving heart.
Born on Tuesday, November 17, 1987, he was the son of Brenda K. (Shadow) Kalemtis of Mechanicsburg, and the late David H. Kalemtis.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Harris D. Kalemtis (Amber English, fiancée) of Camp Hill; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday in St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Jonathan Sawicki as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 – 7 PM at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe Account has been set up to offset costs incurred. It can be found at https://www.givesendgo.com/gasje.
