Robert J. Miller, 92, of Camp Hill died Thursday morning, September 4, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A WWII Navy Veteran, he was a retired Construction Department Manager for the former Bell of Pennsylvania. He was a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland, and West Shore Elks Lodge #2257. He was a kind and honest man, devoted to his family. He had a contagious love of life and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed playing golf, was an avid sports fan, and a great storyteller. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on his screened porch with his "Ruthie," a glass of wine in hand and a rose, freshly picked for her, brightening the table while they watched the hummingbirds visit the feeder.
He was born October 12, 1921 in Frackville, PA. The youngest child of the late Charles and Agnes (O’Donnell) Miller, he was pre-deceased by his three brothers Ed, Daw and France and his sister Eleanor Hale.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of sixty-seven years, Ruth Mullen Miller. He will be forever loved and dearly missed by his three daughters, Janice M. Ragonese (John) of New Cumberland, Nancy Miller of Camp Hill, M. Kevan Miller (Steve Schaible) of Arlington, VA and by his son, Robert J. Miller (Maryann McElroy) of East Hampton, NY. He will also be greatly missed by those who called him Pop-Pop: his seven grandchildren, Courtney Liddell (Richard Reschoff), Megan Hall (Jim), Katie Liddell (Matt Pfarr), Jennifer Ragonese Daly (Dan), Jonathan Ragonese, Phoebe Schaible, Noah Schaible, and his eleven great-grandchildren, Fiona, Zane, Andrew, Ruby, Lance, Michael, Ava, Olivia, Colin, Jada and Mayson.
He loved his cousins, many nieces and nephews and close friends who will all miss him.
Bob's family thanks Hospice of Central PA for the excellent care and kindness they provided during his last weeks.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Monday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Tuesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Entombment will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110
