Robert Lee Cocklin

July 7, 1924 — March 16, 2015

Robert Lee Cocklin, 90, of Carlisle died peacefully Monday, March 16, 2015 at Sarah Todd Home in Carlisle.
An Army Veteran of WWII, he served in the Asian Pacific Theater. He was a 1942 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. He retired as Service Manager from the former H.R. Gutshall and Sons, Carlisle following self-employment as a dairy farmer. He was a member of Newville Church of the Brethren. He loved gardening, reading, and traveling.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Doris J. Anglin Cocklin; three children, Vicky McCullough (Don) of Ash Grove, MO, Ron Cocklin (Pat) of Clarkesville, GA, and LuAnn Ferguson (Scott) of Hickory, NC; two sisters, Josephine Carey of Shippensburg and Theresa Eshbach of Dover; three grandsons, Doug and Jeff McCullough and Lee Cocklin, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Carson, Nolan, and Lacey McCullough; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11am Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Newville Church of the Brethren. Private interment will be in Longsdorf Cemetery, New Kingston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Wounded Warrior Patrol, c/o Dr. Robert Hall, M.D., 161 Candlelite Dr.. Carlisle, PA 17013 or to Newville Church of the Brethren, 16 Carlisle Road, Newville, PA 17241.
