Robert H.C. Lisse

Robert H. C. Lisse, 95, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Viva Senior Living, Harrisburg.

Bob was born in Harrisburg, PA, the son of the late Karl and Maude (Daniels) Lisse.  He was a retired Principal at the New Cumberland Junior High School, West Shore School District with more than 32 years of service as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and baseball and football coach.  Following his career in education, Bob was a property assessment administrator with Cumberland County.  Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran spanning WWII and the Korean War serving aboard the USS Tolman, DM28 Flagship of a Mine Sweep Battalion in Japanese waters in 1945 and aboard the USS New Jersey BB62 with the Task Force 77 in Korea from 1951-1952.  He was a 1945 graduate of New Cumberland High School, earned his Bachelor’s in Education from West Chester State Teachers College and his Master’s in Educational Administration from Temple University, Philadelphia.

He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, Harrisburg where he served as Lay Lector and Council member, the National Association of Secondary Principals, the PA School Employees Retirement System, the PA Association of School Retirees, and William H. Nauss Post 143 American Legion, New Cumberland.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed wintering in Myrtle Beach, SC and St. Augustine, FL.

He is survived by his wife of more than 68 years, D. Jean (John) Lisse; his children, R. Curtis Lisse of Loysville, PA and Sondra L. Andrews of Phoenixville, PA; and two granddaughters, Julie Andrews and Allyssa Andrews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Louise Constantine and Mary Elizabeth Miller.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 27, 2023 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.  Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
