Robert S. Schade

Robert S. Schade, 91, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 in his residence.

He was a retired Chartered CPCU and Senior Vice President with Penn National Insurance, Harrisburg and a WWII Navy veteran. Bob was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Cumberland; American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland; and a Life Member of VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland. In addition, Bob was a committed community leader and volunteer with youth and the handicapped and was a coach with Lower Allen Teener Baseball and Midget Football for more than 16 years.

Bob was born in Fairview Twp. To the late Harvey and Jennie (Naugle) Schade. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy (Prowell) Schade and a son Robert S. Schade, II.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Anderson) Schade; children, Linda Weigle and husband John of Mechanicsburg, Michael A. Schade of Harrisburg and Douglas E. Schade and wife Crystal of Elizabethville; granddaughters, Michele L. Schade and Nicole Graci; and great granddaughters, Ryleigh Shover, Taylor Cady and Ally Hart.

The Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 4, 2017 in Trinity United Methodist Church, 415 Bridge St. New Cumberland with the Rev. Arun Andrews and the Rev. Carl Ford Peterson serving together. Viewing will be from 10-11am on Monday in the church. Burial with military honors provided by the VFW Post 7530 Honor Guard will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
