Robert W. Rickert, 95, of Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village, Lower Allen Twp. and formerly of Lemoyne, died Saturday, November 26, 2016, at his residence at Messiah.
He retired as an Engineer for the former AMP, Inc., Harrisburg; was a WWII Navy Veteran; a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lemoyne; VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland; Perseverance Lodge, #21, F&A.M., Harrisburg; a former AMPRA past President. Bob was an avid woodworker and carver. His military service included serving as Chief Machinist Mate on the USS Texas during World War Two.
Born on March 26, 1921, in Valley View, he was the son of the late Elwood E. and Lizzie A. (Schlegel) Rickert. He was the widower of E. Betty (Thomas) Rickert.
Surviving are three sons, Robert W. Rickert, Jr. of St. Louis, MO, Terry T. Rickert of Carlisle, and Scott D. Rickert of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren, Parker T. Rickert, Kyle E. Rickert, Dominic J. Rickert, and Stefanie N. Rickert.
Viewing will be held 10 – 11 AM Friday in Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland, with funeral services immediately following at 11 AM. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
