Robert W. Sheaffer

Robert W. Sheaffer, 67, of New Cumberland died Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

An Army Veteran of the Vietnam War Era, he was a retired Corrections Officer from the Department of Corrections, Camp Hill. Most recently he worked for Harrisburg East Campground and Storage. He played baseball and basketball at Bellefonte High School. He was an avid Penn State fan, enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing, bowling, baseball, and his grandchildren. He was also known as Cheer Pappy. He was a member of VFW Post 1600, Bellefonte.

He was born August 31, 1952 in Lewistown to the late James H. and Bernice G. (Quay) Sheaffer, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Anna M. Sheaffer; daughter, Avis Callendar (Jeff) of Shreveport, LA; son, Robert W. Sheaffer, Jr. (Regina) of Mechanicsburg; step daughter, Donna Fasick of Mechanicsburg; two brothers, James R. Sheaffer of Lewistown and Michael S. Sheaffer (Linda) of Centre Hall; and six grandchildren, Zack, Dayton, Matthew, Maddie, Jared, and Landon.

Viisitation will be from 5 to 7pm Sunday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.
Funeral services will be at 11am Monday at Parthemore Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
