Ronnie L. Scott

Ronnie L. Scott, 79, of Dillsburg died Monday, January 16, 2023, at Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital.

A graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, he was the owner and operator of Forklifts, Inc., Mechanicsburg. He was an active member of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia (KCP), Morris and Essex Kennel Club, and the Harrisburg Kennel Club. In addition, he was an active member of the West Shore Country Club. His passions were dogs, golf, and traveling.

As a longtime, enthusiastic member of the KCP his accomplishments were many. He was a key member of the Board that developed the Club’s nationally televised, National Dog Show, into what is today one of the top dog shows in the United States. He was always available with ideas and support.

Ron was also a long-time member, of the Harrisburg Kennel Club. He had served many years as the Club's vice president, and chairman of their dog shows. Both August and April Show Chair for over 20 years. At the helm, with his contacts and vision, it was ranked one of the top 5 dog shows in the country, as well as appeared on the Animal Planet Network's championship dog show series.

He was born April 9, 1943 in Kevil, KY to the late Paul W. and Wilma Mae (Miller) Scott. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Gail Mueller.

He is survived by his wife, Debra J. (Primm) Scott; son, Michael Scott (Marsha) of Mechanicsburg; sister, Paula D. Schlenkert (Ed) of Rockford, IL; brother, Rick A. Scott (Tia) of Camp Hill; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Viewings will be from 5 to 7pm Friday and at 10am followed by a Celebration of Ron’s life at 11am Saturday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial will follow in Dillsburg Cemetery.
