Rose (Chesney) Eichelberger

Rose (Chesney) Eichelberger, 91, formerly of New Cumberland, died peacefully at home after a short illness on Friday, June 23, 2023.

Surviving Rose is her daughter, Dawn Earnest (husband, Adam); sister, Helen Mahek; niece and nephew, Tina Walsh and Brian Eichelberger; a great-niece, Beth Maida; many dear friends, and of course her best friend, Sugar Babe (her Bichon Frise).

She was the widow of Donald Eichelberger (dcd. 2014), and was also preceded in death by two nephews, Eric Eichelberger and Christopher Mahek.

Born on October 6, 1931 in Atlas, PA, the family would relocate to South Central PA early in her life, and she would graduate from Lemoyne High School. She worked for Bell Telephone, Harrisburg, retiring in 1967. Rose was a longtime member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, before becoming a parishioner at St. Bernadette’s in Duncannon these last several years. She was active with her church and she volunteered as a girl scout leader when her daughter was young. Rose was a beautiful soul who was loved by all who knew her.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
