Rosemary Balum, 72, of Camp Hill and formerly of Hellertown, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 in her residence.
She was a retired kitchen designer with Home Depot, Jonestown Rd. Harrisburg; a graduate of Weatherly High School and East Stroudsburg University; and a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Camp Hill. An avid traveler, she roamed the world with her children and their families, whom she adored. She was a patron of the performing arts, a tourer of museums, gifted with a keen artist’s eye. Rosemary was a beacon of warmth and kindness, generous beyond words, cherished, charming and bright. More patient, caring, loving and beloved souls than Rosie’s have rarely walked among us or will be missed more. She embodied the spirit of her faith and practiced it well. Rosie was grace incarnate.
Rosemary was born in Hazleton, PA, the daughter of the late William and Rose (Malesky) Bolish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Joanne Bolish and a brother Timothy Bolish.
She is survived by her children, Christina Maier (Scott) of Carlisle, Joseph Balum (Britta) of Havre de Grace, MD, Nathan Balum (Erin Bendig) of Wyndmoor, PA, Marcus Balum (Mary Iampietro) of Philadelphia and Rachel Balum (Christopher Lentz) of Den Haag, Netherlands; siblings, William Bolish, Jr. of Diamondale, MI, Barbara Genetti of Weatherly, PA, James Bolish of Weatherly, Susan Hoffman of Lehighton, PA, Jane Lydon of Allentown, Alane Byrd of Richmond, VA and Edward Bolish of Weatherly; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Abigail, Joseph, Paul, Anna, Ida, Shane, Margaret, Amelia and Evelyn; and her canine companion, Chloe.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, November 27, 2021 in Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 Trindle Rd. Camp Hill, PA with the Rev. Neil S. Sullivan as Celebrant. Viewing will be one hour prior to Mass in the church. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Weatherly, PA.
