Roy E. "Butch" Smith

Roy E. “Butch” Smith, 77 of Etters, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital.

He was a retired Circulation Courier with the Patriot News Co., Harrisburg. Roy was an outdoorsman who enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time at a family camp in Clearfield County, PA

Roy was born in Elizabethtown, PA, the son of the late Ellsworth and Kathryn (Sprout) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Shirley Bair.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 33 years, Jennifer L. (McDonald) Smith; children, Holly Boger (Robert) of New Cumberland, Ann Renee Derr (Michael) of Duncannon, Brandon Smith of New Cumberland, Nicole Smith of Etters and Noelle Smith of Etters; his brother Clarence “Smoke” Smith of The Villages, FL; thirteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

A visitation with Roy’s family will be held from 5 – 7 pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in Parthemore Funeral Home and cremation services, New Cumberland. Inurnment in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Roy’s memory to any charity of the donor’s choice.
