Royce Haas

Our family would like to express our warmest thanks and gratitude to everyone who attended our father’s memorial service last week, and to all who gifted flowers, trees and made generous charitable donations in his honor. We were humbled by the turnout, and the heartwarming stories you shared with us during his memorial service were a true reflection of his character, and why he was admired by all who met him.

Our family will be hosting a celebration of our father’s life on Saturday, June 17th from 2:00pm- 6:00pm. His idea of pure joy was the sound of children splashing in a pool on a summer day, the smell of grilled burgers and hot dogs and being surrounded by the laughter of loved ones. He used to chide “If I don’t see someone in that pool daily, I’m going to fill it up with dirt!” Please consider joining us! Please RSVP via phone or text to Susie at (757) 805-8465 or susanreneehaas@gmail.com for additional details. We look forward to seeing you!

With Deepest Gratitude

The Haas Family

Royce Haas, 81, of Allendale, Camp Hill, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, in his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

He was a printer, and founder of Haas Printing, Inc., Lemoyne, where his children continue his lifelong passion for printing. Royce was a graduate of William Penn High School, Harrisburg, PA. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Infantry veteran of the Korean War.

A beloved husband and dedicated father and grandfather, Royce loved his family and his chosen trade, printing.  “I love what I do, and I’ve never worked a day in my life” is how he described his profession. A quiet teacher, his life lessons in guiding others spoke volumes of his character, as well as his discipline for honing a craft he loved.

He and his wife, Lois, began as high school sweethearts and shared more than sixty years of marriage together. She was the love of his life. Royce’s love for his children was undeniable. Despite eighteen-hour days at the office, time spent with his children and grandchildren was his priority and passion.

Royce shared many passions, including golf, his beloved Eagles football team, Wrestling, Boxing and was an avid sports enthusiast.

Royce was born in Harrisburg, the son of the late Kirk and Virginia (Esh) Haas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Haas.

He is survived by his wife of more than 61 years, Lois G. (Maisel) Haas; children Susan R. Haas of Virginia Beach, VA,  Jeffry M. Haas of Camp Hill, Michael R. Haas of Camp Hill, Michelle L. Haas of Palmyra, Robert K. Haas of Camp Hill and Timothy K. Haas of State College; his brother, Larry Haas of Mechanicsburg; his sister, Larraine Haas of Ft. Myers, FL; and thirteen grandchildren:  Christie, Michael, Connor, Stephen, Jill, Zachary, Krista, Ben, Samuel, Jackson, Maxwell, Jacob and Harper.
