Ruth Ann Carreno

Ruth Ann (Rhoades) Carreno, 78, of Hershey, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 in her residence.

She was a retired Vice President of Marketing with The Compass Group and a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School, Steelton, PA. Ruth enjoyed gardening and socializing with others. She absolutely loved animals and fostered many dogs over the years. Additionally, she ran a boarding house from her home for Hershey Med students and travelers to the area.

Ruth was born in Nevada City, CA, the daughter of the late Cecil and Jean (Buck) Rhoades.

She is survived by her children, Dawn L. Combs (Brad) of Hershey and Frank A. Carreno of Harrisburg; and siblings Thomas Rhoades of Miami, FL and Luanne Glaser of Harrisburg.

In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Ruth’s memory to the Humane Society of the Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Road Harrisburg, PA 17111.
