Ruth E. Smith

Ruth E. Smith, 93, of Mechanicsburg died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at her home.

She was a retired English Teacher from Red Land High School. After retirement she joined the Peace Corps and taught in Poland for two years. She was an avid scuba diver well into her eighties.

She was born September 6, 1927 in Wilcox, NE to the late Ralph and Esther (Wendell) Willman. She was the widow of Gordon F. Smith.

She is survived by her children, Jaye Smith (Brian Hoffman) of Mechanicsburg, Susan Smith (Dan Buletti) of East Moriches, NY, Joel Smith and Randy Smith both of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Valerie Kost, Heather Buletti, Leah Buletti, Erich Lehman, Craig Lehman, and Zach Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Reilly, and Everly.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
