Scott M. “Scoot” Willoughby, 45, of New Cumberland, Fairview Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his residence.
Scott was born in Harrisburg to Roy and Mary Linda (Wertz) Willoughby of New Cumberland.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Karen (Beamer) Willoughby; his nephew Logan; his niece Kira; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was a commercial truck driver, worked in construction, and as an embroiderer. He was a 1990 graduate of Red Land High School, Lewisberry, PA. He also attended Franklin and Marshall College and Bloomsburg University, where he was a member of the wrestling teams.
Scott loved wrestling and had an intense passion for the kids he mentored and coached. He also enjoyed fishing, Pittsburgh sports, and Notre Dame. His days spent on the wrestling mat, at a ball field or on the water were his happiest days.
Above all, Scoot loved his family. His last few months were spent in the company of those he loved the most. He was his dad’s best friend and aided him in caring for his mother. He and his brother were extremely close and loved each other like only brothers can. He spent countless hours with his nephew playing baseball and watching his games. He spent time with his niece at her soccer games and gymnastics classes, and he was extremely proud of them and loved them like his own. Scoot did everything he could for those he loved. He is deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Anthony Dill officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 9 – 11 am Saturday in the funeral home.
