Sgt. Maj. Carl L. “PopPop” Brumbaugh, US Army, Retired, 80 of Newberry Twp. Died Monday, October 31, 2016 at his home.
A retired Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, his military career led him to manage numerous Officer and NCO clubs both here and abroad. He spent the remaining portion of his active duty as Manager of the Susquehanna Club at the New Cumberland Army Depot. After his 30 year Army retirement his career finished out as a government employee of which he was awarded once more the management of the Susquehanna Club. He enjoyed solitaire, crossword puzzles, cooking, and game shows.
He was born August 3, 1936 in Dayton, OH to the late Glenn and Bessie (Fenton) Brumbaugh. He was the widower of Maryanna Regina Ward.
He is survived by a son, Eric V. (Dena) of Mechanicsburg; two daughters, Lori A. King (Todd) and Georgina E. Brumbaugh both of Etters; a brother, Merle of Brookville, OH; and six grandchildren, Samantha (Joshua), Sarah, Zachary, Morgan, Justus, and Josiah.
Viewing will be from 5 to 7pm Thursday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
