Shelby E. “Ed” Brinser, 87, of New Cumberland and formerly of Colonial Park, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired computer systems analyst with the New Cumberland Army Depot (DDRE), Fairview Twp. and a former bus driver for the Central Dauphin School District. Ed was a member of Paxton United Methodist Church, Harrisburg and a graduate of Susquehanna High School, Harrisburg. Ed enjoyed making Easter eggs at church and selling them, bowling, travel, dinner theaters, puzzles and caring for his plants. He liked watching baseball, hockey and football. He also enjoyed eating at John's Diner for breakfast and lunch where they treated him like family. But most of all, he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren.
Ed was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Shelby Eli and Elsie (Saul) Brinser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Donmoyer.
Ed was the widower of Janice L. (Sellers) Brinser and is survived by his children, Rick E. Brinser and wife Donna of Berwyn, PA, Cheryl A. Thompson and husband Anthony of Adel, GA and Kathleen V. Goodlin and husband Scott of New Cumberland, PA; grandchildren, Spencer, Madison, Gordon, Derek and Samantha; and a great granddaughter Sophie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 20, 2022 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed’s memory are respectfully requested to his church, Paxton United Methodist Church, 3550 N. Progress Ave. Harrisburg, PA 17110.
