Sheldon A. Munn, 79, of New Cumberland died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital.
He was the retired owner and operator of Munn’s Diamond Gallery, Lemoyne. He was an active member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guide Assoc; Past President and Paul Harris Fellow, West Shore and Harrisburg Rotary Clubs; Past President of Harrisburg Civil War Round Table; Dauphin County Historical Society; Cumberland County Historical Society; Camp Curtin Historical Society; Christian Business Men’s Committee; and Lafayette Lodge No 194, F&AM; He created the Friend to Friend Masonic Memorial in the Gettysburg National Military Park Cemetery and authored “Freemasons at Gettysburg.”
He was born July 14, 1939 in Plymouth, NH to the late LaVerne and Dorothy (Baird) Munn. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle; sister, Norma Mark; brother Winston and grandson, James Gallagher.
He is survived by his wife Carolee (Congdon) Munn; son, Christopher Munn (Marilyn) of Camp Hill; four daughters, Elaine Munn-Short (Barry) of Boise, ID, Bonnie Heintzelman (Roger) of Danville, Karen Gallagher (Joseph) of Lewisburg, Lorianne Swidler (Bradley) of Camp Hill; a brother, Brady Munn of East Quogue, NY; fourteen grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Monday, October 29 and 9:30-10:30am, Tuesday, October 30 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM, Tuesday, October 30, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Committal will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St., New Cumberland, PA 17070.
